There is already a very heavy melee bias from weapon scaling without taking into account threat. The 2 melee in my group are doing double the damage of the caster while sitting happily at 10-20% of the tank's threat, meanwhile the caster is always riding the line at 95%+ and doing less damage.

Casters get this in the form of aa's under Archtype Spell Casting Subtlety.

My whole group is AA capped, I know what subtlety is. Not even close to how strong the dad jolt augs are.

What caster are you playing? Is it a wizzy? My enchanter doesn't even come close to pulling aggro from my Paladin with slow, cripple, 2-3 dots, and nukes even. Sometimes he's even runing the tank.
I'm asking because maybe it's specifically damage spells that are to blame?

Warrior tank, so significantly less threat than knights. Caster is a mage.
Edit: It's only a problem on fights with a threat debuff on the tank where in a raid you'd swap tanks but that shouldn't be a requirement in a group. Melee can go full burn on pull without any thoughts to threat meanwhile the mage in question casts 3 spells and just gets to afk for a few minutes.

Are you using threat weapon augments from the hub?

Yes, 2x edge of eternity which have a stun proc on top of double dad threat augs. Or maybe reduce the level requirement for silent casting AA instead, that would also work.

Seems strange that the mage pet isn't taking aggro when the warrior gets debuffed as well--especially if the pet has pet hate weapons. Just covering all the bases... #pettank is set to on, right?

If its a "raid" fight (supposed to be 1 groupable) it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect there to be some sort of offtank in a high end group. My interpretation of the what the server is meant to be (and I may be wrong) is that you can group everything, but you can't do everything with just any 6 toons. You still need to round out your group in the right ways--i.e. have some sort of melee/off-tank class that *can* take some hits until the debuff is removed or whatever.

We can do the fights, it's just not fun for the mage on some of them. Avatar of Earth in earthb, Tallon/Vallon in time. We used an earth pet with threat weapons for our first clear of these for safety, but 6-7 clears later with much better gear and his role on these fights is still to just watch his pet fight and press a nuke every 20s or so. Melee on the other hand will be "what is threat?".
edit: If I remember correctly. Tallon is a 60% threat reduction debuff on the tank and Vallon FDs the tank. Been a while on Avatar, I think it was a 95% threat reduction on the tank. I believe they are not radiant curable, or if they are it gets put back up very quickly.

The anger/jolt augs were made so powerful because I wanted to keep pet tanking in but no "pet tank toggle" command existed.
After creating that I think it is time to revisit these augs and see what adjustments they need. Good discussion here.
